Part Ski, Part Snowshoe, the GlideLite Snow Trekker

I recently had the opportunity to use a set of GlideLites from Black Diamond. And, I had a blast using them! Now, what are GlideLites? Black Diamond classifies them under their trekking category. And after using them, I agree with this. They work great moving across relatively float, snow covered surfaces. And, they create a semi stable platform while trekking through deep power. I do think that BD could add a lever, or something similar, to raise the heel of the universal binding when traveling up steeper inclines; like on A.T. bindings. I mean, the GlideLite Snow Trekkers come with a patch of skin already inlaid into the Patented Unicoat base. Which is cool. But, I do wonder if BD was a plain to produce replacements for those who will use the Trekkers a lot. Spring, A Love/Hate Relationship.......

Why...... Days of warmth as snow turns to water, and the water turns the ground to mud. This, followed by the sun baking the mud into dry dirt. Water flows off the mountains, and the rivers rise. Ripe for those who wish to take advantage. Winter gear is stowed, as summer toys are pulled from the dust. And yet, the chill returns. Bringing snow and ice. The town turned to a painting of black and white. The residence grudgingly wrapping scarfs and sweaters around themselves as they exit their houses. Many hoping, not for the first time, that this is the last time. And myself. I sigh, in the knowledge of the coming cold mornings, as I wait for an engine to heat up. At least the sun is rising, it won't be dark with the cold. Not for the first time, I hope the sun will free my driveway from its ice prison. It will take days. New Places, New Experiences

When I was young, I never was the person to try new things. But years come and years go, and I've broken out of that old shell. Glad I did too, other wise I would not be in the place I am today. I may be new to the world of blogging, but that does not mean that the idea of placing content on the great and mysterious internet is alien to me. I also run a YouTube channel, on which I have opened a window to the main passion of my life. No, its not the big, red, bathtub shaped boat that may be the main constant of the majority of my videos. My passion is simple the action of floating down a body of moving water. Yeah, I'm a river rat. I don't really care what kind of craft takes me down the worlds greatest highway, as long as its not an inner tube.
